'What Should I do with My Life' by Po Bronson came to my attention from my good friend Jenny. I know it sounds hokey, but it's actually really helpful and interesting. For those of us who are trying to figure out what to do after college, or for people who are still in the process even after a number of years. This book is basically just a collection of short bios and anecdotes coming from hundreds of interviews conducted by the author. There's no one line of advice, or directions for how to figure out what you should be doing, but it's comforting and inspiring to read about other people's successes, failures and searches.
Movie Recommendations
Today in painting class we watched a very good French film called Cache (I think it's 'Hidden' in English and 'מחבואים' in Hebrew). It's an interesting movie, especially the way it plays with the idea of being filmed or watched and self-reference to the movie itself so that you're never quite sure if you're watching the movie itself, or a movie or television show within the movie.
Last night went to see 'The Band's Visit', a really funny, great movie about an Egyptian police band invited to perform in Israel and their experiences as they get stranded and lost in Israel.
